Obituary for Linda Lou Innes

Linda Lou Innes, 78, of Manhattan, Kansas, died at 8:55 a.m. on Sunday, February 19, 2017, at Brookdale Assisted Living in Wichita, Kansas.
Linda was born September 23, 1938 in Ransom, Kansas, to George E. and Velma E. (Haug) Felton. She graduated from Kansas State University in 1959 with a degree in business administration. Linda married Ronald D. Innes on September 26, 1959 in Manhattan. She was a homemaker in her early adult life, raising three children, and later, teaching business at Kansas State University and working for the Kansas State Foundation.
Linda was known for her passion for people and helping others. She was an avid animal lover and Kansas State fan. When Linda was not with her beloved family, she spent her time gardening, antiquing and drinking coffee at Bob’s Diner with her friends.
Survivors include her three children, Kip B. Innes of St. Peters, Missouri, Meg L. Hastings and husband, Scott, of Fleming Island, Florida, Kelly D. Innes of Topeka, Kansas, eight grandchildren, Shailey M. Innes, Reegan N. Innes, Connor B. Innes, Andrew L. Wright, Ashley K. Wright, Abigail S. Wright, James R. Innes, Noelle M. Innes. Her parents and two sisters, Venita L. Wilson and Nelda (Sue) Bowden, preceded her in death.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 3pm at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Road in Derby, Kansas with Chaplin Wayne Mastin officiating.
