I was in one of Derek's training classes at Hamilton Relay in January 2016. I didn't know him well personally, but he was very kind and liked to joke to put people at ease. I was reassured every time I saw him, whether in class or on the call floor. I will not forget him, and I know none of my former coworkers and friends will, either.
