Obituary for Geraldine Ann "Jerry" Young

Geraldine Ann (Keating) Young, of Derby, age 84, was called to heaven on Sunday, October 20, 2013. She was surrounded by a large and loving family who will miss her greatly. Jerry, as she was known, was born in Perry, OK and was one of 9 children. She graduated from Hayward High School in 1947 and Wichita Business School in 1948. In 1950 she married James R. Young (who has preceded her in death). She is survived by her brother, Wayne Keating of Oklahoma City and her 8 children, Jean (Dilip) Patel, Denny (Mary) Young, Walter (Carol) Young, Gilbert (Earlene) Young, Joyce Young (Bill Goforth), Joe (Lisa) Young, Jim (Debby) Young and Chris (Lori) Young, her 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Her kind heart, sense of humor selflessness and unyielding integrity will always be remembered. We are comforted by her amazing gift of love. Visitation 1-7 PM Wednesday, October 23, 2013, with Recitation of the Rosary beginning at 7 PM, Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 AM Thursday, October 24, 2013, at St. Mary Faith Center, Derby. A memorial has been established with St. Mary Faith Center, 2300 E.
