Obituary for Walter Eugene "Gene" Peterson

Walter "Gene" Peterson, 70, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2017. Memorial service 10:30 am, Monday, July 10, at Smith Mortuary, Derby 1415 N. Rock Rd. Derby. He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Peterson; mother, Karen Hanson Whiteside; and half-brother, Michael Whiteside. Survived by his son, Shaun (Trisha) Peterson; siblings, Wayne Peterson, Harold Peterson, Olivia "Cookie" Piper, Mildred "Marty" (Earl Dean) Meeks; and step-mother, Georgia Peterson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Robert J. Dole VA Volunteer Services, 5500 E. Kellogg, Wichita, KS 67218.
