Obituary for Ardellee Mona Coons

Ardellee Mona Coons, 90, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at the home of her son and his wife in Lawrence, KS. She was born September 16, 1922 in Pittsburg, KS to Martin John Utermoehlen and Amanda Edna Alma Rohr. Memorial service: 11 am, Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church of Derby. Mrs. Coons was a retired supervisor for the Census Bureau, U.S. Department of Commerce. Throughout her life in Derby, she was an active member of many community organizations, including First Presbyterian Church of Derby. She married Ernest Dale Coons on March 14, 1948, in Pittsburg, KS and he preceded her in death. Survivors include daughter, Linda (David) Voth of Derby; son, Doyle (Kim) Coons of Lawrence; sister, Marcellee Dittmer of Marshall, MO; 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and another on the way; along with many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 324 N. Baltimore Ave., Derby, KS 67037 or the Derby Public Library, 1600 Walnut Grove Rd., Derby, KS 67037.
