Obituary for Robert Koenig

Robert “Bob Koenig, 95 of Mulvane, Kansas, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017 in Humble, Texas. He was born Oct. 4, 1921 to Emil and Tillie Hauptman Koenig. He was a Lt. Commander of the United States Navy. He was a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He married Katharine “Kay” King on Sept. 4, 1947. He worked for Hormel Co. for 24 years. He then started his own business, Koenig’s Provision Co. and worked there until retirement. Survivors include two daughters, Christine Green of Humble, TX, Wendy Cline (Kevin) of Derby, KS; one son, Lee Koenig (Jean) of Bartlett, Illinois; Grandchildren include Brian Koenig, Melanie Green (Jessica), Robby Green (Amanda), Kyle Cline, Andrea Storrer (James), Brent C line and Jeremy Cline; three great grandchildren, Maddie, Ava, and Cannon Green. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 7 at Mulvane United Methodist Church. Private Inurnment will follow at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Mulvane Senior Citizen Center and FROG Diner at Mulvane United Methodist Church.
