Obituary for Robert William Hellon Jr.

Robert William Hellon, 76, retired Chemical Engineer, passed away Monday, November 6, 2017. He was born February 11, 1941 to Robert and Vera (Sliter) Hellon in St. Louis, MO. Robert grew up in St. Louis, MO and graduated from the University of Missouri at Rolla. He was a 32nd Degree Mason for 50 years, belonging to the Winfield Lodge along with the Scottish Rite and Shriners of Wichita. Robert was a Registered Professional Engineer in Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents. Robert is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carolyn Hellon; sons, Robert Michael (Sara) Hellon, SSGT Michael William Hellon, and Dennis Edward (Melissa) Hellon; sister, Vivian Hellon Coleman; 8 grandchildren, Robert John, Claire, and Isabella Hellon, Case Payne, Lorelai, Bishop, Ari, and Eli Hellon. Visitation: Friday, November 10, 2017, from 1 to 8 pm at Smith Mortuary - Mulvane, 501 SE Louis Blvd., Mulvane, KS 67110. Funeral: 2 pm, Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Belle Plaine United Methodist Church, 124 E. 10th Ave., Belle Plaine, KS 67013. Memorial contributions may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202.
