Obituary for Joseph Benjamin Toussaint

Joseph Benjamin  Toussaint
DOUGLASS- Joseph B. Toussaint, 92, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2017, at Catholic Care Center of Wichita. He was born in Tewskbury, MA to Yvonne Toussaint. Joseph entered the Merchant Marines July 14, 1943, as a Coal Passer/Fireman, and ended his 44 1/2 year service as a 1st Asst. Engineer in Frbruary of 1987. Joseph received full military status as a member of the Coast Guard for his service during WWII. Joseph was patriotic, generous, loving, and laughed often and heartily. He was preceded in death by his wife of 18 years, Alma Bailey Toussaint, and his stepson, John A. Bailey. He is survived by stepdaughters Helen C. (John) Bevelhumer of Wichita, Katherine B. (Tom) Blair of Atlanta, KS, his step daughter-in-law, Janice A. (John) Bailey of Wichita, four step granddaughters, and 6 step great-grandcildren. Gravesided service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 13, at Douglass Cemetery. A memorial has been established with the Douglass Public Library, 319 S. Forrest St., Douglass, KS 67039.
