Obituary for Carolyn Darlene Shelton

Carolyn Darlene  Shelton
Derby – Shelton, Carolyn, age 81, co-founder of Shelton Body Shop, passed away January 5, 2018. Carolyn was born on August 22, 1936, in Timber Lake, SD. She was a loving wife, mother, grandma, sister, and friend to many. She loved to bowl and cook, and was the Wichita Wings and the Shockers biggest fan. Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Lesa Traversie; brother, Bud Traversie; sister, Alice Odden. She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Dale; sons, Kevin Shelton and Brad (Tracie) Shelton; grandchildren, Lakin, Lexie, and Luke; sisters, Muriel Corey (Denver, CO), Kathy Matson (Wichita, KS); and a loving extended family. A visitation will be from 1:00pm - 7:30pm with family greeting from 4:00pm - 7:30pm Thursday evening January 11th; Brad and Tracie Shelton’s Family is hosting a public rosary at 7:30pm following the visitation. The visitation and rosary will be held at Smith Mortuary – Derby, KS, 1415 N. Rock Rd. A Funeral will be held at 1:00pm Friday, January 12th at South Rock Christian Church, 900 S. Rock Rd. in Derby, KS. In lieu of flowers, two memorials are established: American Cancer Society, 330 S. Main St. Wichita, KS 67202 and South Rock Christian Church.
