Obituary for Clifford Eugene Waggoner

Clifford Eugene  Waggoner
Clifford E. Waggoner, 89, was born September 22, 1928 near Saxman, Kansas to Royal "Roy" and Mary Oden Waggoner. He attended Saxman Elementary School and graduated from Lyons High School in 1946. Clifford married Violet Manwarren on May 23, 1949 at her parent's home in Sterling, Kansas. They moved to Wichita in July 1966. He was a farmer and electrician and retired from Vulcan Chemical Company after 25 years of service as a maintenance engineer. Clifford was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church, Botanica, Wichita Area Iris Society and an emeritus member of Sedgwick County Extension Master Gardener program. He is preceded in death by his son, Clifford; brother Wayne; sister, Luella Niday; daughters-in-law, Lynn, Bonita, Donna and Carol. Survivors include his wife, Violet; son, Dennis Waggoner; daughters, Rhonda Bevilacqua (James); Karen Schmeidler (David); 3 brothers, Alfred, Glenn (Wanda), Harold (Linda); 2 sisters-in law, Ann Messick, Nancy Phillips; grandchildren, Carl Waggoner, Veronica Marrs (Tyson), Jeffrey Waggoner (Christy), Jon Schmeidler (Laura), Henry Schmeidler (Sarah), Jacquelyn Arnold (Joel), Emily Tocco (Lennie), Christopher Bevilacqua, Daniel Bevilacqua (Kristin); 18 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Viewing: 2-8pm today, Friday, with family present from 5-6:30pm at Culbertson-Smith Mortuary, 115 S. Seneca, Wichita. Funeral service: 10:00am Saturday, February 24, also at the mortuary. Graveside: 2:30pm Lyons (KS) Municipal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are established with the American Cancer Society and Sedgwick County Master Gardener's Endowment Fund.
