Obituary for Willa Aldrich

Willa Deane Aldrich,our loving sister and aunt, went to be with the Lord on April 7, 2018 at Derby Health and Rehabilitation Center. Willa Deane was born September 13, 1922. She worked in Wichita at Boeing in the early 40's, married and moved to California during the war, working at the Air Force Base. After the war, she and her husband moved to Alexandria, Virginia working for the telephone company in Washington DC and Alexandria, Virginia. She later worked for Martin's Real Estate Office in Alexandria. Deane and Ralph retired to Rhode Island and then moved to Dunedin, Florida. After the death of her husband, Deane moved to Haysville, Kansas in 1980 and worked for Woolco and then K-Mart, retiring in 1991. She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and abroad. Deane was a member of the First Christian Church, Haysville. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Aldrich; parents, Lewis Riley and Edith Marie Vance; brother, James Lewis Vance. Survivors include her brother, TJ Vance (Gloria); sisters, Fay Molitor and Jackie Williams; nephews, Jay and Rick Vance, Leonard Molitor; nieces, Cathy Pruitt and Lisa Helton; several great-nieces and nephews. No visitation. Memorial Graveside service: 11am Friday, April 13, 2018, Waco Cemetery. 500 W. 95th Street South, Haysville, KS. Donations may be made to Wounded Warriors Project. Arrangements with Smith Mortuary, Haysville.
