Obituary for Austin Helm
Belle Plaine - Helm, Austin Martin
94, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018. He served in the Pacific on a LSM in the United States Navy, during WWII.
Austin was a dentist in Belle Plaine for 35 years, and was involved with the Belle Plaine School Board for many years. From his many friends and patients, we would often hear him described as kind and gentle.
He loved spending time with his family and KU Basketball.
A private family service will be held.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Helm and sisters, Rheba Moore and Mickey McClure.
Austin is survived by his three children: Martin Helm (Connie), Allen Helm, and Leigh Godwin (Les); nine grandchildren; one foster grandchild; 17 great-grandchildren; three foster great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market St., Wichita, KS 67202.
