Obituary for Charles R. "Chuck" McCain

Charles R. “Chuck” McCain, age 66, of Wichita, formerly of Mulvane, retired Boeing/Spirit employee, passed away Thursday, May31, 2018. Chuck is a graduate of Mulvane High School and WSU. He is a US Navy veteran, a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, Mulvane Lodge #201 A.F.&A.M., Order of the Eastern Star, Midian Shrine Temple, Mulvane Optimist Club and was a Mulvane Recreation Commission summer softball coach. Chuck is preceded in death by his father, Aurdle McCain, and his mother and stepfather, Mildred (Martin McCain) and Victor Harreld. He married Joyce Kimble on April 29, 1978 in Belle Plane. Survivors include his wife; his children, Kim McCain Benson (Dennis Zorn), of Derby, Jennifer McCain of Wyandot, OK, Megan McCain (Adam Cantor), of Jacksonville, FL, and Arien McCain Masher (Kyle), of Bothell, WA; sisters, Veda McCain Corneil, Mary McCain Merz and Marilynn Harreld Maddox; grandchildren, Justin McCain, Ethan Benson, Ayden Cantor, Elliot Cantor and Hadley Masher. There will be a celebration of life for Chuck at the Smith Mortuary, 501 SE Louis Dr., Mulvane, on Saturday, June 23, 2018 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm. This will be a come-and-go event including a BBQ lunch. Please attend and share your stories and memories with the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202 and the Mulvane Optimist Club, 1025 E. 11th St. So., Mulvane, KS 67110.
