Obituary for Carol Smith

Carol Smith
Haysville – Smith, Carol Ann (Young), age 75, passed away July 2, 2018. Carol was born December 10,1942 in Hutchinson, KS, to Lee and Joan Young. Later the family then moved to Wichita. In later years she worked at her fathers grocery store, Pawnee Thriftway. Her father then bought a bar in Wichita (Cabaret) where she enjoyed working at the bar more than the grocery store because she met and picked up her husband Ron Smith, and,married him 4 days later. They went on to be happily married for 50 years, which they celebrated in 2017.
Carol had many hobbies including, wood carving and baking the best sweets around. She loved to make up poems complete with pictures if you were lucky enough to receive one. One of her passions was always painting. She would paint a picture of your dog or of you ( favorite doctors and clowns included) just because she enjoyed it so much. She was a dearly loved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to many and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held 2-6pm with the family present from 4-6pm Sunday evening, July 8th;
Funeral will be at 1pm Monday, July 9th, both at Smith Mortuary – Haysville, 7031 S. Broadway.
She is survived by her children, Michele Smith and Kevin Smith; grandchildren, Tiffany Thomas, Zachary Smith, Danielle Fullhart and Cody Fullhart, great-grandchildren, Aiden Overeem, Trayten McGathy, Emma McGathy, her siblings, and a loving extended family. Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Ron, her parents, sister, and step-daughter.
