The earliest memories I have of my brother was him always working on one of his cars, especially an old Hudson, back in the mid-50's .  I also remember serving at the wedding mass for him and Leu in 1957.  I remember spending some days with him while he worked at Karbe's and Safeway , probably in the late 50's.

George grew up during the hard times of the depression and learned how to repair about anything.  Buying something new was unheard of and he was always busy fixing something.  He seemed tireless and never stopped working or hunting or fishing.   George fished until he was no longer able to safely get out on the lakes by himself.  There was always fish in he and Leu's freezer.

Horseshoeing became George's passion in the 80's and 90's and he competed at the highest levels in state competition.  He never did anything halfway and enjoyed pushing himself and was very competitive and never stopped trying to improve. 

I especially enjoyed watching his family grow up and remember when it became an annual event that we all got together at the Mulberry Homecoming and pitched horseshoes and enjoyed a noon picnic. George and Leu were always accomodating to all of us and we visited them in Carbondale, Belton and Derby as he moved from miltary base to base with his job.  

He was a good husband and father and provider for his family. 

I will miss my "big" brother George very much.
